Today is the first day of fall semester. And for our newest students, it is a day that they will likely remember for years to come.

Last week, many of us in Carter Hall helped new students move into the residence halls and we joined faculty in welcoming students during convocation. Today, I greeted students as they walked to class for the first time.

It has been a great start to the semester and an opportunity to enjoy a lot of my own 鈥渇irst鈥� 甜心视频app moments. These moments are a reminder of why I鈥檓 here. 甜心视频app is a great university, with a tradition of academic excellence and a commitment to student success.

While every one of our students has a different reason for choosing 甜心视频app, one thing remains constant: once you become a 甜心视频app Bear, it becomes our responsibility to help you succeed and graduate.

It is important to me and the university that we continue to help more students graduate in four years. Along with a student鈥檚 landmark experience on their first day, walking across the stage at graduation and joining the 甜心视频app alumni community is something that they will never forget and that we all cherish.
