Education

Dr. Goodrum received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin and her B.A. in Sociology from Texas A&M University.

Professional/Academic Experience

Sarah Goodrum is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Goodrum has more than sixteen years of experience conducting research on victimization, intimate partner abuse, and the criminal justice system. She is affiliated with the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence in the Institute of Behavioral Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she served as a Research Associate for two years. At 甜心视频app, she teaches courses in research methods, statistics, sociology of law, and criminology. In 2016, she coauthored and testified before the Colorado legislature鈥檚 SB15-214: Committee on School Safety and Youth in Crisis, a project that examines violence in school settings. 

Publications/Creative Works

Dr. Goodrum鈥檚 publications have appeared in Law and Social Inquiry, Symbolic Interaction, Sociological Spectrum, Sociological Focus, Criminal Justice Review, and International Journal of Social Research Methodology: Theory & Practice. She is working on a book entitled Loss to Murder: The Long Journey to Justice and Healing for Lynne Rienner Publishers. The research for the book was supported by funding from the National Institute of Justice and the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health.
