    Emergency Repairs Will Impact Hot Water and Heat on Campus This Week

    The hot water and heating systems across campus will be turned off for different durations this week.

    The hot water and heating systems across campus will be turned off for different durations this week for unexpected repairs. This means there will be periods of time when only cold water will be available from sinks and showers and spaces may cool down depending on the weather.  

    Faculty, staff and students are advised to dress warmly during these times. 甜心视频app鈥檚 Facilities Management is working with a contractor to limit the duration and location of impact to the following: 

    All Campus Outage 

    • Thursday, Oct. 24, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This outage affects all of campus, including residence and dining halls.  

    Central Campus Outage 

    • Beginning the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 22, through the evening of Thursday, Oct. 24. This outage affects the following buildings on Central Campus (no residential or dining halls are affected):
        • Arts Annex
        • Ben Nighthorse Campbell Center
        • Carter Hall
        • Crabbe Hall
        • Frasier Hall
        • Gray Hall
        • Guggenheim Hall
        • Gunter Hall
        • Kepner Hall 

    According to Nate Reinhard, assistant vice president of Facilities Management, the emergency repairs were scheduled after two separate leaks in the university鈥檚 high temperature hot water system were discovered last week.  

    鈥淭his type of work is something we typically schedule over the summer to avoid widespread impact, but these repairs can鈥檛 be postponed,鈥 said Reinhard. 鈥淲e apologize for the inconvenience and thank everyone for their patience and understanding.鈥
