President’s Leadership Council Update: Task Forces Seek Campus Involvement

President’s Leadership Council members discussed the efforts of three task forces convened by Interim Provost Theo Kalikow and began work on an inventory of potential cost-saving measures at the Council’s Sept. 24 meeting.

President’s Leadership Council members discussed the efforts of three task forces convened by Interim Provost Theo Kalikow and began work on an inventory of potential cost-saving measures at the Council’s Sept. 24 meeting.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to join one of the task forces or provide feedback when they solicit campus input later this semester. To join a task force, email the respective chairs by the end of the day Friday, Sept. 28:

  • Assistant Vice President for Student Success Stephanie Torrez — Student Success task force, which will make recommendations for university-wide student success efforts, including goals to address 4- and 6-year graduation rates, retention, and achievement gaps. The first meeting will be 12:30-2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 (University Center, Council Room). Recurring meetings will be scheduled at the first meeting. Contact: Valerie.Kalos@unco.edu 
  • Vice President for Campus Community and Climate Katrina Rodriguez — Student Affairs Structure task force, which will recommend how to realign ÌðÐÄÊÓƵapp’s student affairs functions to better serve students. Meetings will be Mondays, from noon-1:30 p.m., Oct. 8-Dec. 10 (location TBD). Contact: Elaine.Quam@unco.edu
  • Provost Kalikow  â€” Academic Portfolio task force, which will work with the academic deans to review ÌðÐÄÊÓƵapp programs and delivery. Meetings will be Mondays, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Oct. 1-Nov. 26 (University Center, Columbine A). Contact: Valerie.Kalos@unco.edu 

The Council will continue to discuss potential cost-saving measures to address ÌðÐÄÊÓƵapp’s $10-million structural deficit and will be soliciting campus input in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please share any cost-savings suggestions with your Council representative.
