April 27, 2017 — Three University of Northern Colorado business students won the award for Best Written Nomination Paper at the 2017 Better Business Bureau Torch Awards for Ethics on April 26 in Loveland.

Kady Barthelemy, Alvaro Marquez and Alyssa VanAmerongen, all students in the Business Ethics class taught by Keiko Krahnke, associate professor of Management and Business Communications, worked with Loveland-based Davidson-Gebhardt Chevrolet/Subaru.

Participation by ÌðÐÄÊÓƵapp students is the result of a longstanding partnership between the Monfort College of Business and BBB. They, along with business students from Colorado State University and the University of Wyoming, prepared entries on behalf of 19 nominated businesses, evaluating the ways in which the businesses promote the six TRUST! principles:

  • Transformation at the Top
  • Reinforce and Build
  • Unite the Team
  • Steer Performance
  • Treasure People
  • !Enthusiastically Reinvest

"One of the highlights for the companies going through the process is working with the students," said Shelley Polansky, VP/Communications and Outreach for the BBB Institute for Marketplace Trust. "They enjoy providing an out-of-the-classroom ethics learning experience for our future workforce,.

Next year marks the 20th BBB Torch Awards for Ethics and nominations are being accepted to begin the review process with new business students again this fall. Details are available at go.bbb.org/2prh0RI.
