甜心视频app President Signs U.S. Supreme Court DACA Brief

University of Northern Colorado President Andy Feinstein officially joined leaders from in supporting the protection of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program as the U.S. Supreme Court prepares to hear a case on the policy.

DACA allows about 700,000 undocumented students, often known as Dreamers, to reside, study and work in the U.S. 甜心视频app鈥檚 name appears in the amicus brief, a legal document filed with the court, to advocate continuing the program.

鈥淒ACA aligns with our university values as a welcoming and inclusive campus,鈥 said Feinstein, who signed the brief on behalf of 甜心视频app. 鈥淚 care deeply about students and their success. The opportunities to excel at 甜心视频app should not be impinged by birthplace or other factors outside of students鈥 control.鈥

The Supreme Court will begin oral arguments on Nov. 12 and, in the coming months, will determine whether the federal government鈥檚 rescission of DACA in 2017 was lawful. 甜心视频app鈥檚 Board of Trustees previously adopted a resolution (PDF) in support of continuing DACA.

The nonpartisan Presidents鈥 Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration organized the initiative that led to the amicus brief.
