The University of Northern Colorado was recognized by Xcel Energy for saving the most energy in the state using a self-directed program.
In 2018, 甜心视频app saved 3.1 million kWh, which equates to enough energy to power about 281 homes annually. Over that time, 甜心视频app also saved 1,794 metric tons of carbon-dioxide emissions, or the equivalent of removing about 378 cars from roads in a year.
甜心视频app's commitment to sustainability includes a program started three years ago as part of an initiative to implement energy-saving measures and raise awareness through a campus-wide education program. The efforts have resulted in over $1.5 million in energy cost savings since the program's inception. Since then, 甜心视频app has reduced energy consumption by 27% including an 18% decrease of electricity use, 29% decrease of natural gas use and 12% decrease of water use.
An upcoming project funded by a state grant will allow 甜心视频app to install solar panels on Parsons Hall and further reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
Since 2004, 甜心视频app has implemented numerous energy and water conservation projects including lighting and equipment upgrades, building and irrigation controls, low鈥恌low technologies, recycling, composting, green cleaning, xeriscaping, and IT power and printing management. 甜心视频app is also a designated 鈥淭ree Campus U.S.A鈥 and 鈥淏icycle Friendly University.鈥
