Colleagues,
We are happy to provide an update to the implementation of the Strategic Enrollment and Student Success plan. The creation of the SESS plan involved community members presenting ideas and sharing stories of success that have been a part of the 甜心视频app campus for many years. Part of the work of the SESS plan was to take existing practices and scale them up to serve larger numbers of students. We are thrilled at the interest and motivation of faculty and staff to contribute to improving student recruitment and success. Thank you to Action Team members and Co-chairs!
Action Team achievements this semester include:
- SOAR, MCB Advising, and School of Nursing have collaborated to support students at the greatest risk of attrition in the first-year cohort. This proactive approach is an intentional effort to connect directly with 400 students around topics of advising, sense of belonging, and connecting to other campus resources.
- Co-chairs have been identified to lead the creation of a campus Integrated Network Committee to collaborate with students to ensure their success and progression. Interim Associate Provost Nancy Matchett and Dean of Students Gardiner Tucker will co-chair the Integrated Network.
- Review and enhancement of Bear Central communications to improve communications to students and campus constituencies is underway and making progress.
- Each college has begun work to create a consistent advising webpage to improve access to information and connect students with an advisor.
- An early alert intervention pilot program for select sections of English 122 using low-stakes assessments identified 21 students to provide additional support and connect to campus resources.
- Efforts are underway to leverage career pathways and outcomes in marketing materials through partnership between Center for Career Readiness and Alumni Relations.
Go Bears!
